About us

Eva Grant is a small company based in the highlands of Scotland which works in partnership with local development groups in Lao, Thailand and India. These groups are chosen because of their ethical principles as well as their abilities to produce beautiful textiles. The aim of these groups is to provide individuals with choices and to empower them to be self-sufficient. In some cases the textile production is central to this aim, in others it is a small part of a more complex picture. In many cases education and training in textile production and also other areas, is given. Please click on the links on the Supplier’s page to read about the individual groups.

We also work with individual crafts-people who are maintaining traditional skills. Harris Tweed is an example of a tradition at a crossroads, with recent developments hopefully saving the traditional craft from terminal decline. Donald John Mackay is pro-active in seeking new customers across the world.

Eva Grant imports fabrics from suppliers and the clothes are then tailored in England. We will explore the possibility of the fabric produced abroad being made into Eva Grant designs in the country of origin, which would increase employment and reduce costs.
